Plenty of canines were content to remain within the relative safety of their Loner Bands (or even smaller groupings) again this year, which lead to a lot of great character development, interesting dynamics, and progressive ideas! We also saw the creation of a new board-owned Loner Band, Oglethorpe, in addition to some fun opportunities with several other bNPCs!
"This is not a subject I think is worth discussing because there is nothing there to discuss. Not every look or glance or touch or anything has to mean something."

All of this devastation, and for what? Her? The Odalis she had known was dead and gone. Salsola had broken her and rebuilt her in their image — she was someone else entirely. She was one of them. Odalis's voice echoed, unintelligible, in the corners of her mind, but only when the woman made a move for the horse did Alejandra realize what she was doing. "Don't touch my daughter," she called after the tawny woman, whipping her neck around as Solomon's blood spilled all over her pelt and hands. Her voice was shrill like a whistle when she screeched at her with all of the breath she had left, "DON'T TOUCH MY DAUGHTER!"

Love wasn't the clean and simple meal they delivered to their guests. But it might have been the barest feeling of relief they gave each other, the rare glimpse of who they could be, if given the chance.

Death was no stranger to the trapper, who killed indiscriminately and when the opportunity struck. His actions were against lesser prey, or even the predators who remained enemies to their kind despite the Luperci's unrivaled advancement, but they were savage nonetheless. Preservation was not part of his behavior. He was greedy and saw a world full of untapped resources ripe for the taking.

The collie dog made a great display about shifting down to four legs and looking like a great fluffy lion – trying very hard to flaunt his figure and catch Adrianna's attention.

Holli had got herself into debt too. Her own desire to spend more than she owned was what caused all her problems, but now she was doing what she wanted to do – perform – and make profit from it. Even now, here she was, getting private lessons from a professional lady of the night. Everyone he helped got what they wanted.

It sounded easy enough to believe. He often wondered what his family might have been like – his brother especially. Omar's death had been the first of many catastrophes to befall them. If that was all in God's plan, it meant whatever happened next was part of the plan too. Jethro didn't know if he loved Malik yet, but he had never had a relationship like theirs before either. All his travel and bad company kept him from ever settling down.

The truth lies with you, and there's no home to return to.

Consumed by the supernatural, led by deeper callings like justice and duty, what had happened in the most ancient places of the world was nothing short of a reckoning. There, among endless bloodshed and blinding heat, they had come to this first understanding of who they truly were. Perhaps, like so many others, they had fallen back then, and only their souls moved on.

"You'd better take a seat for this," He warned his brother, faintly.

To live with enemies on all side was to be prepared for pain. His allies had tried to kill him long before he came to Inferni, as if they had instinctively sensed there was something different enough within Marlowe to make him feel wrong. The devil, even.

Maybe his awareness of his own mortality was why all these bad thoughts kept coming up. Things from before then, even – from his miserable childhood and the whirlwind romance that was meant to have saved him to those long months alone. The smoke made it harder to remember everything, but that was what he wanted.
Living in the now, with this new group, was for the best.
