In Memoriam: Dread

Dread

Early in December, 'Souls lost one of our longtime players; Dread had been a member of the forum since 2012. Things were not always easy for them, but they left a lasting part of themselves in those who interacted with them over the years. Below are the messages from members of the community who wished to share their memories of Dread and their time with us.

Well-wishes for the lost, may Dread be at peace, may his wife live well.

Dragon

I remember many times spent putting our heads together and making so many plots. We constantly reminisced on the good times. Talking about the past with Isla and Drahnor. To planning new people we were bringing in, Damnation and then my girl Grace :’) You were such a light in my life when I had terrible times, I <3 you my dude, always and forever. You’re always in my heart.

Adel

I love you and miss you, and my heart has a permanently empty place where your memory resides. Its full of the conversations we had, the plots we thought up, the plans we had planned - but the absence of *you* in particular is hard to bear. Im SO thankful I had the time I did with you, and I just wish there had been more of it. <3 I hope you knew how important you were to a great many people.

Emz

Rest in peace, Dread. You will be sorely missed, and your creativity and camaraderie remembered well. May you travel on to better pastures, and find peace wherever you go.

Dread,

You were the first player to ever adopt a character from me and you helped get my foot in the door at Casa di Cavalieri. It's so wild to think that you've had so many characters and plots on this forum throughout so many years — so many memories that have made 'Souls just a little brighter. You are going to be sorely missed.

Dread was a good guy. I may have only been on 'Souls for a year or so by now, but his presence has been and will always be missed. Our community values everyone, especially those like him. I loved to read and look at his creations and admired him for that creativity and originality. I like to think he's partying it up now, wherever he is. I also like to think that his family will be okay after this. My heart goes out to them. I wish it didn't happen, it's difficult to grasp in my mind that it did. Either way, his light is not gone, his life is not for nothing. He will be remembered and his impact will remain.

Viktor

My condolences to Dread's family and loved ones. Dread left an indelible mark on this community and our hearts, and will be sorely missed.

Dread, I can't believe it. The world is going to miss you!

Vida

Words just aren't enough. You will be so dearly missed, and we'll never forget you. Rest in Peace, Dread.

Dark

While I never knew Dread personally, I know how special he made Souls with his presence. From his well-written characters to his community spirit; we will miss you terribly. You were taken too soon from this world, and I only hope your adventure continues into the next!

Lackadaisy

Dread was a beloved member of our community. I fondly remember plotting with Dread with the small family Crucifix and Basilio made, the drama that was made around it, and for the plot that helped to get Silas off the ground. I owe so much to Dread for the wonderful stories we made and the friendship we had. It hurts to think that he will no longer be around among us, but the memories of him and his presence in the community will live on.

Salena

You made the community better and brighter, and I'll miss you. <3

Eike

I always had so much fun chatting with you and brainstorming plots, we had so much planned. It still feels like a bad dream that I'm waiting to wake up from, and you still be here. Dread, you were such an amazing person and friend, and I am grateful to have known you, even if it wasn't long enough, so thank you. I will forever cherish the time we had, and carry you forever in our hearts.
