Phoenix Valley

2009 was a year of change for Phoenix Valley as it celebrated its first birthday in July. It consisted of farewells to many familiar faces and the arrival of many new, exciting faces as well. Leadership over Phoenix Valley changed due to a variety of reasons. The original founders of Phoenix Valley parted ways with the pack in several different ways -- the Matriarch, Iskata Sadira, disappeared very early in the year and was quickly believed to be dead, while Deuce Rhiannon moved on to eventually join Dahlia de Mai for a short while before disappearing herself. Jefferson Soul became the unlikely leader of a pack full of dreamers in early February and continued to lead through the rest of the year. DaVinci 'Daite Nasphrite was the longtime subleader of the pack, but left mid-summer very suddenly; his successor, Geneva Stockholm, rose to the challenge. The unexpected pair of leaders, Jefferson and Geneva, formed an inexplicable bond.

Early in the year, Phoenix Valley formed a trade and alliance with AniWaya, with whom the pack is extremely friendly. Tensions with Inferni kept many Valley pack members on edge, however. Xeris experienced particularly negative situations involving the clan; however, her year became happier after she discovered love with Pendzez Zazkex. They welcomed their children into the world later in the year. Naniko D'Angelo, former Commander of Crimson Dreams, also joined Phoenix Valley and bore Ehno Marino's children. Pontiac, Naniko's sister, arrived just in time to rejoin the new family.

A small, abandoned child named Addison was adopted by the most unlikely of fathers, Jefferson -- Valley raised, Addison later moved to Dahlia de Mai as she reached adulthood later in the year. A unique young girl, Rendall, spent many months growing as part of Phoenix Valley before she took off on another path to discover the history of her origins. Ty Trenton Nasphrite remains a constant, protective presence in the pack. Anya and Angelique brought their unique gifts of understanding and unconditional offers of friendship. All in all, 2009 was overall a quiet, laid back year for the pack of misfits and dreamers.

Members were primarily relaxed in posting; for the most part, the leader in post counts was Adam, Ty's player. The pack struggled with some contests and pack threads, unfortunately, and saw many joiners that came and went very quickly. The pack's out of character demeanor, however, has remained very friendly and casual, with perpetually comfortable communication between leaders and members. The introduction of a monthly pack bulletin going over key changes or alerts has improved member awareness and recognition. Members were happily given a laid back, happy experience in Phoenix Valley over the year, and we hope it will stay the same for 2010!
